Grinberg, Bueno, Suillerot named All-SSC in men’s tennis

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Three Saint Leo men's tennis players were tabbed for All-Sunshine State Conference honors, when the All-SSC teams were unveiled on Friday.

Juniors Thomas Grinberg and Jaime Bueno were named to the First Team Singles squad, while junior Vincent Suillerot was named Second Team Singles.

Grinberg and Suillerot were also named to the list of First Team Doubles pairings.

Grinberg logged an 11-2 ledger for the Lions, entirely at no. 1 singles, where he went 6-1 in SSC matches. Grinberg also had a 1-1 record this season against nationally ranked opponents.

Bueno, who took Second Team All-SSC honors a year ago, had a perfect 10-0 mark for Saint Leo at no. 3 singles, with a 6-0 mark against SSC rivals.

Suillerot went 12-2 for Saint Leo this season at no. 2 singles, with a 5-2 record in SSC competition.

As a doubles pair, Grinberg and Suillerot battled their way to a 9-5 mark, playing entirely at no. 1 doubles for the Lions. The duo recorded a 6-1 mark in SSC matches.

Saint Leo men's tennis went 13-4 this season under first-year head coach Chad Berryhill, and reached the semifinals of the SSC Men's Tennis Tournament after finishing with a 6-1 SSC record. The Lions earned the no. 5 seed to the NCAA Men's Tennis South Region Championship, and will play no. 4 Lynn University in the South I site in Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday, April 29.
